A Few Words About Us
Zippel’s Smoky Bay Oysters, trading as Zippel Enterprises Pty Ltd is, an “oyster pioneering” company owned and operated by three brothers, Gary Zippel, Ashley Zippel and Bruce Zippel and is one of the largest family based oyster growing operations in Australia.
Zippel’s Smoky Bay Oysters are based at Smoky Bay on the Western Eyre Peninsula of South Australia, located near the top of the Great Australian Bight.

Some of our products
Bistro
between 50mm to 60mm: Generally considered the “buffet” oyster, highly suitable for buffets (found at bistros) and is the same size commonly found in supermarkets.
Plate
between 60mm to 70mm: Tends to be perfect size for the restaurants plate, hence the name and where they are mostly enjoyed.
Standard
between 70mm to 80mm: In the early days, this size was considered the industry standard. Generally, more of a size suitable for retail markets and seafood outlets.

We have been farming oysters for over 30 years and during that time have learnt to produce a quality product. We are producers of restaurant quality oysters. We currently send oysters to 5 States in Australia through our marketing networks.

Our oysters are finished for market in Smoky Bay which produces premium flavoured oysters.

We are on the lease every day of the week, weather permitting, which enables us to send you oysters by arrangement any day of the week. We have eftpos available for payment over the phone so there is no delay with your order.
